Seminar Overview This Brainspotting Advanced Seminar is an opportunity for Brainspotting professionals to deepen their knowledge and have personal experiences with understanding and applying how to integrate parts work within a Brainspotting Frame. This seminar will be taught through didactic discussions, demonstrations, and practicums. Process will include: Focusing on specific parts of the client within the Brainspotting Frame, as well as identifying, tracking and learning to dialogue with parts of self, while working on a Brainspot. Additional focus will also be given to the therapist's own parts and identifying the potential for Limbic-countertransference. This is an inclusive training. There are many models of working with parts. All styles of working with parts and knowledge are welcome.
This 5 half day training will begin with an extensive review of Brainspotting Theory as it applies to the use of the Uncertainty Principle, Attunement and working within the Brainspotting Frame. All attendees will explore what it means to be working with parts implicitly or explicitly. The teaching opportunities are designed to make available the open, integrative, free-form approach of Brainspotting to enhance therapist’s presence and support clinicians in integrating parts work within a Brainspotting Frame.
Seminar Learning Objectives Through lecture, live demonstration and small group practice participants will learn to do the following:
- Demonstrate ability to identify, track, and attune to client’s parts while using the Uncertainty Principle within a Brainspotting Frame. - Identify and understand tracking of physiological reactions of the client. - Distinguish when to use implicit vs. explicit parts work. - Evaluate affect tolerance and Limbic countertransference through attunement with client and self. - Apply, practice, and integrate interventions with parts when needed within a Brainspotting Frame.
